ZIT FACE game

Choose 2 teams with 4 players each.  Choose 2 teachers, 1 to represent each team.   The teachers sit on chairs facing the audience and each teacher holds a bag of marshmallows on their lap.    The first child from each team comes up to the front and takes some marshmallows from their bag.   They break the marshmallow up into pieces and stick  them onto the teacher’s face.   They have 30 seconds to stick as many as they can, then the whistle blows and the next player on each team comes up and has 30 seconds to stick marshmallow pieces unto their teacher’s face.   After the last team member has had their chance to stick pieces, then the pieces are counted on each teachers face.   The team with the most pieces wins.

Game The Limbo

Game THE LIMBO

Have 2 volunteers hold a pole horizontally.   Play upbeat praise music.   Jewish style praise music works really well.    The children line up single file and pass under the pole.   Then the volunteers holding the pole lower the pole an inch or two.   The children make another pass under the pole. The volunteers again lower the pole and the children pass under it.   As soon as a child cannot pass under the pole they are eliminated.    They must not squat or turn their head to the side.   The same rules apply as in the normal Limbo game.  Before each pass under the pole, the children as a group must recite the memory verse.

Game Smelly Business

Game SMELLY BUSINESS

Take several disposable plates and place on each one a sample of various items from your fridge.  Suggestions would be peanut butter, jam, onion slices, ground garlic, used coffee grounds, pickles etc.  Now blindfold your friends and bring them into the room one by one to test their powers of smell as you pass each plate under their noses.  For humour you could have a teacher take off their shoes and put a shoe or smelly sock on a platter.

Game Pass the Orange

Game PASS THE ORANGE

You can either play this pass the orange game in two teams or stand around together in one circle. The object is simply to pass an orange from one person to another, using only the chins and the shoulders. If you are using two teams, you can make it a race, but it is always very funny whichever way you play.  Repeat the memory verse between rounds.

Choose 6 or 8 children.   Put all the shoes that you brought in a pile in the front centre of the room.   Tell the children that are picked to remove their shoes and add their shoes to the pile.   Mix up the pile of shoes. Line the children up at the back of the room.   Have everyone say the memory verse, then say “1, 2, 3, go!”  All the children run to the pile and pull out their shoes.   Then they run back to the start line.  The last 1 or 2 people are eliminated from the game, but are awarded with a small prize or a ticket for participating.   The remaining children go back and throw their shoes on the pile again.  Someone scrambles the shoe pile, and the race is run again.   Children are eliminated each round until there are only 2 children left.   The winner is the last person left in the game.

Game Labyrinth

Game – Labyrinth

This is a really fun game if you have a room with enough space to play.

Divide class into two teams.  One team spreads out evenly unto the floor area.  The other team lines up against the wall.  This team gets to be the runners first.

One at a time each player from the team against the wall, leaves the wall and has to try to last 20 seconds running around in between the players out on the floor area.  The kids on the floor area throw a soft ball to each other and try to hit the runner with the ball.  If the runner lasts for 20 seconds without being hit then he/she has earned their team a point.

After each player on the running team has had a chance to run, then the teams are reversed and the runners become the players on the floor area.  The other team lines up against the wall and becomes the runners.

Team with most points at the end wins.

Game Hot Stinky Sneaker

Game – HOT STINKY SNEAKER

This game is similar to “hot potato”.    Have the children form a line across the front of the class.   Pick a child wearing running shoes and ask for one of their shoes.  When the music starts the children pass the running shoe down the line and back again until the music stops.   When the music stops, the child who is at that moment holding the shoe becomes eliminated from the game.   Music starts again and a child is eliminated each time until there remains only one child left – the winner.  Remember to have the children recite the memory verse between each round of play.
