Summer Outreach Program

Do you want to reach children for the Lord in your community but feel that you have no time?  Here is a program that I have done many times with good success.  Each program takes about 45 minutes to perform.  Get yourself 2 teenagers, book 4 to 6 housing complexes and go to each complex one after the other.  (If you have more time available you don’t have to do this hectic pace – but often volunteers are more willing to do a intense short term outreach than a several week outreach. You could do the programs 3 days in a row or 1 day each week for 3 weeks.  In the end you will have made contact with several kids and families who you could invite to your regularly scheduled children’s programs.

In the spring of the year I make contact with the people in charge of various townhouse complexes and government run housing units.  I obtain permission to attend for 3 visits to their complexes in the summer.   Most of the time I am permitted, as long as there is absolutely no religious content to the programs.  You may run into this situation too, hence the development of this program.  You will notice that I have included 2 “Day #3” programs.  One has a Christian message, the other does not.

By the way, I have found that kids now a days like to sleep in.  I don’t start until at least 11 a.m.
